I'm So Behind!

I'm very very behind when it comes to blogging lately. We all have been so busy, you know, knee deep in the whole Christmas things! I really have enjoyed reading everyones fun Christmas-y ideas, traditions, crafts and decorating! Sadly I just haven't had the time to load all the pictures from my camera into the 'puter and do some blogging of my own.

With that said. You have been warned. Lots of pictures coming up!

Last Wednesday, the elementary had their annual fundraiser day at the local market. The school gets a percentage of all the days sales. The faculty also bags the groceries, the PTA puts on games, and the choir sings. Now keep in mind that this is a small , hometown store. But our choir is HUGE! So they set them up in the back of the store, by the meat department. Nothing but class for us baby! We were sooooo crowded! Hence random children's heads in the pictures!

This is my 9 year old and her friends looking totally bored, waiting for the dang thing to get going! singin' singin' away! It was so hot in there, one poor little girl went all white, then green and had to be carried out in the middle of the performance. Poor thing.

Ok. This is my sad sad attempt to take pictures of some of my Christmas decor. Some of you have asked me to show it. You are warned. I lack in photography skillzzzzz

my front room.......

I wanted just a picture of my village, but the 3year old bogarted the photo, how could you say no to that face AND the "fist of rock"?!

best 50 cents I ever spent thriftin'. This shutter is so easy and fun to change out for the seasons

a little shelf in my kitchen......the fabric candy canes are some of my favorites

my centerpiece, nothing too fancy

just some snowflakes hanging around.

on to the family room

my sad sad attempt at the mantel. I do like my hubby's idea of taking an old shutter, painting it black and hanging it above the mantel to hold some C-mas cards, good job honey!
The cutest stocking ever were made by my husband's Grandma R. She so lovingly has made one for everyone in the family(immediate and extended and then some). She passed away a couple of years ago, and we are so grateful to have these treasures to bring out every year and remember how much she loved Christmas and how much she loved her family........

the tree.......which the kids decorate any random way.....

ok this next idea isn't exactly Christmas, but I have made a bunch of these to give as gifts. Just get an old headboard, bunk bed ones work really well because they are shorter. Paint, stain, distress--whatever, attach some hooks, get some frames---paint those a cute color, add some fab ribbon and some cute pictures and voila! Easy peasy!
this one I actually bought at a boutique last year. it had some vinyl on it that said "the children were nestled...." I took it off after last christmas and never had the time to put some other saying on it, but I did see ones at the boutique that said "rise and shine". So cute!

love me some C-mas cookies.......especially if they come out of this snowman my Aunt gave me.... oh and have you had the christmas peppermint star peeps?! yummy!!

and lastly......my favorite thing about this season........

COKE in the bottle! I feel like a kid again!
Thanks for staying with me for this long post! I promise to be better, and blog more often. Hope everyone has a wonderful evening.
