Are You Getting Ready?

I'm so excited to decorate for Christmas!! I have to admit, I started a week or so ago! Sure it's a pain to lug up all those totes from the basement, but hey, that's what hubby is for!!

I thought I would show some of the things I started putting out. In my front room......I went with a "Believe" theme. It's not quite done, I will post pictures of the whole room in a day or two, I'm still tweaking! sorry, blogger would not let me post the pictures any larger! I swear blogger and I have a love/hate relationship lately!

Hubby and I made this sign a couple years ago. It's just a table runner framed with 2/4's painted and distressed! I gave some as gifts that year too. Easy-peasy!

My Mommy gave me this Scentsy warmer! Love it! It's filled with pomegranate goodness right now!
Anyhoo, I'm off to see what the kids are yelling at me for. I guess they need to eat or something!

Jubilee

This afternoon we took our kids to the Jubilee. The kids love to look at all the different trees and see who donated them. For those of you that have never heard of this before, it is a fundraiser for our school district. They hold it every year the week of Thanksgiving. Tuesday night they hold a big gala and people bid on these amazing trees. Then weds. and friday the public can view them and place bids also! Hubby's boss always buys a tree, then sets it up along with ones he's purchased years before. The showroom of the dealership looks like a winter wonderland!! So fun!

I always look forward to this tradition, it makes me get a little weepy every time we go. You see, my oldest daughter has personally benefitted from the generous donations of people and businesses. Because of her disability, she is blessed to have such an amazing group of friends with CP, Autism, and so on. This jubilee makes it possible for some of these kids to have special devices to help them get around, communicate....the list goes on and on! Two of her best friends have posters up with their amazing stories.

If you have time, check it out!

I Got Nothin'

I really don't have anything interesting to blog about! It's been pretty boring around here with the usual day to day stuff! I know I shouldn't complain because next week will be busy with Thanksgiving and all......

I guess that could lead me into my thankful thursday stuff.

Since Thanksgiving is just around the corner......

**I am thankful for my family, my little one and the extended family. My kids love spending time with all their cousins. We are so blessed that everyone lives close by.

**I am thankful for our health. Two years ago was a pain. McCoy in the hospital for RSV and then Brian with his lovely tumor. This year has been much better, with the occasional pukey pukey now and then!!! hehe

**I am thankful for school! Not just the fact that the kids get out of my hair everyday, but the fact that they all have amazing teachers! I truely enjoy volunteering at a school I love so much. I am so sad that they will be changing the boundaries next year and we will have to go to another elementary.

**I am thankful for my girlfriends, and that includes my mom, and sister. It's not a secret, I love to talk, and gossip(sorry), and talk, and giggle! They help fill that need, and keep me grounded when I seem to freak out over nothing.

**I am thankful for my husband(cheesy). We are sooo much alike, and don't take crap from each other anymore! We say what we feel to each other, good and bad. Don't laugh, but we are stronger because we don't keep in the little things that seem to nag and bug. Nope, no secrets here!

**I am thankful for the holidays! The food, the family, the friends, the food, the decorations, the food, the music, the shopping, and oh the food! I've started getting some of my christmas stuff out, and my house is in shambles! I've already got one tree 95% done!! One down, 3 more to go!!

......I guess I really did have something to blog about! ;)

Santa Claus Is Watching You -- He's Everywhere, He's Everywhere!

Sorry, I couldn't resist the Ray Steven's shout out!

I have a question my blogging girlie friends.......

when is it too early to threatin', I mean, TELL your kiddies that the big man is watching?

I think I've used this phrase on McCoy at least 27 times today!!

I think he would actually believe me, if it wasn't for the fact that I started telling him this back in um I think August!

you know me, just keepin' that christmas spirit all year long!!

15 years ago........

November 5, 1993

I think I made a pretty good decision. I married my best friend for eternity in the Ogden Temple.

@ 9:26am to be exact

I know this cuz Ralph and Delayne had a stop watch!

yep, in the temple!

Some things I really remember about that day......

Brian picking me up in his old ford high boy, painted 20 thousand different colors of rust, because if we got in an accident on the way, we would win!

I remember the look on my husband to be's face when he saw me the first time in my dress.

The fact that he couldn't stop bouncing his right knee up and down while we listened to the sealer talk to us.

The very heafty woman in the background of our wedding video......skirt tucked into her g's and all as she was getting out of her car!

Me, passing out in the bathroom of the Mansion House @ our wedding breakfast cuz I was too nervous to eat anything that morning!

Brian, Carson, and Rick doing the Paul Simon 'You Can Call Me Al' dance for me before the reception!

and finally

the look on Brian's face when I told him to help me out of my wedding dress after the reception, so I could change into comfy clothes to go on our honeymoon!

Ah, young love!

in these 15 years we have went thru a ton of ups and downs....

4 children, job changes, 20+ cars!!!!!(not kiddin') and sometimes wanting to throw in the towel, but looking back at everything it makes me appreciate our marriage more and as each day or year passes I am very thankful for our decision that beautiful November day

I love you Brian, you are my best friend. Happy Anniversary
