Mama I'm A Big Girl Now!

Just like the song from our favorite musical "HAIRSPRAY" says, my oldest is growin' up and there's nothing I can do about it! Well today was jr. high registration (weepy, weepy eyes). She thought it was awesome......me on the other hand.....overwhelmed! That school is huge! And the locker situation...don't get me started! She asked me if I thought 7th grade was cool......ummmm.....ummmm...... My 7th grade experience was, shall we say, ackward to say the least!! What I remember the most about jr. high is my first crush. His name was David & I was smitten.....he did not even give me the time of day.....but I kept liking him all thru my jr. high experience. Kinda forgot about him in high school (ok, I gave up). So I graduate, go to college, get married and start my life, and guess who shows up at my job to tell me he's home from his mission and would LOVE to spend some time with me????????


Oh Madi I hope you survive your tween years with a little more class then I did! Go easy on me, I'm new at this, and to MY MOM.....thanks for puttin' up with me.

She has had a tuff go in life, but you would never guess with that cute smile!!! These kids are sent here for a reason, like my sweet sweet Madi....we are learning from them!

I'm Bored!

Ok! So the hubby's @ work.......still......I guess I shouldn't complain since he works on commission and when he's busy it means we get to eat this week!!!

The kids are outside

with friends

and the hose

doing who knows what to my yard

and I don't care!

It's so freakin' HOT

and I'm tired of yelling at them!

When I'm bored I tend to rearrange things in my house. They are perfectly fine the way they were, but just for kicks I mess some more with them cuz..........

I"M BORED!!!

It got me thinkin'

I was a snot. I remember in high school my friend Michelle and I would strut around in our "Gerbeau" jean shorts, "Guess" watches, and I can't remember the name of them but they were really expensive leather shoes. WE WERE COOL!!

At least we thought so

Her Dad would always call us "hot **** wanabes"

and dangit

we were!

I would never shop at a place like the DI......heaven forbid I would reuse anything!

Now its sooooooooooooooo many years later and I have to say

I'm obsessed with that store and the way I can decorate with stuff!

Did I mention my hubby works on commission?!

Did I mention that sometimes we are poooooo

So poor that we can't afford the "R"

So in my boredum tonight I decided to show just what I have found at the great DI!

I have done a complete 360!!

The picnic baskets were like $2

each.......

was an awful color but it was $3

Random Thoughts

So yesterday a friend and I took our kids to the local pool. Between the two of us we had 7 monsters to yell at...I mean look after. While we were sitting there in the shallow end looking like a bunch of beached whales (pretty visual huh), my friend's teenage daughter had an epifany! She proceeds to tell us that when she has kids, she will never...........wait for it.........

YELL @ her kids!

I about peed with laughter!

Then it got me thinking about all the random things I as a mom say to my kids on any given day!
Like.........

"Don't lick each other!"

"Boogers belong in a tissue!"

"No, I do not want a taste of your 'special potion'!"

"Bouncy balls do not belong in the heating vents!"

and my personal favorite.......

"No, you can not pee in that jar!"

Pre 4th Fun

So we did some family bonding tonight and let the kids do sparklers and fireworks. And the phrase that was heard around the world.........

"Stop lighting my grass on fire you little shits!"
