What Momma Wants...

Dear Santa,

I've been a good mom all year. I've fed, cleaned and cuddled my children on demand, visited the doctor's office more than my doctor has, and sold sixty-two cases of candy bars to raise money to plant a shade tree on the school playground. I was hoping you could spread my list out over several Christmases, since I had to write this letter with my son's red crayon, on the back of a receipt in the laundry room between cycles, and who knows when I'll find anymore free time in the next 18 years.

Here are my Christmas wishes:

I'd like a pair of legs that don't ache (in any color except purple, which I already have) and arms that don't hurt or flap in the breeze, but are strong enough to pull my screaming child out of the candy aisle in the grocery store.

I'd also like a waist, since I lost mine somewhere in the seventh month of my last pregnancy.

If you're hauling big ticket items this year, I'd like fingerprint resistant windows and a radio that only plays adult music; a television that doesn't broadcast any programs containing talking animals; and a refrigerator with a secret compartment behind the crisper where I can hide to talk on the phone.

On the practical side, I could use a talking doll that says, "Yes, Mommy" to boost my parental confidence, along with two kids who don't fight and three pairs of jeans that will zip all the way up without the use of power tools.

I could also use a recording of Tibetan monks chanting "Don't eat in the living room" and "Take your hands off your brother," because my voice seems to be just out of my children's hearing range and can only be heard by the dog.

If it's too late to find any of these products, I'd settle for enough time to brush my teeth and comb my hair in the same morning, or the luxury of eating food warmer than room temperature without it being served in a Styrofoam container.

If you don't mind, I could also use a few Christmas miracles to brighten the holiday season. Would it be too much trouble to declare ketchup a vegetable? It will clear my conscience immensely. It would be helpful if you could coerce my children to help around the house without demanding payment as if they were the bosses of an organized crime family.

Well, Santa, the buzzer on the dryer is ringing and my son saw my feet under the laundry room door. I think he wants his crayon back. Have a safe trip and remember to leave your wet boots by the door and come in and dry off so you don't catch cold. Help yourself to cookies on the table but don't eat too many or leave crumbs on the carpet.

Yours Always,

Mom

I so didn't think this up on my own. Sharkbait had it on her blog, and I thought it was straight-up awesome! A Mom can wish, right?

Funny Story...

So the other day I saw this cute Gap commercial and I immediately thought of my neice, Sami. So I text her Dad (my brother Jeff), and her Mom to tell them about it. Sounds innocent right? That's what I thought. I wrote, "just saw the new gap commercial, and it reminds me of Sami". Then I get this threatening text back, "who isssss thiiissss, and how do you know my daughter"?????? Turns out Jeff and Lindsey didn't have my new cellphone number programed in their phones and thought it was some stalker out to take their darling daughter! My bad! Sorry guys.

Anyway this http//www.youtube.com/watch?v=SzwsEMd9iBo is the cute commercial that got me in so much trouble!

Daddy Daughter Date!

Tonight Haylee and Brian had a really special date. It was the Daddy Daughter party for the 10 and 11 year old girls in our ward. The girls really wanted a 50's theme, so they all loaded up and headed to Pop's Malt Shop just down the road for some yummy treats and dancing with Dad!

Don't they look cute?! Notice the 'Chuck Taylor's' Brian is wearing!

They had so much fun! I just have to say, Brian is such an awesome dad. He got off early to go tonight. He was in the middle of a big sale at work and turned it to another salesman, thus him only making half of the commission! and while I'm on the subject of the hubster......we celebrated our 16th anniversary last week! We went and saw "Couple's Retreat". It was the perfect anniversary movie! Love you Brian, thanks for making the last 16 years seem like 16 minutes....
underwater! Here's to a million more!

Caden's New Girlfriend....

It all started when she asked him if he liked spiders in the afternoon........

doesn't he look so at ease with her?!

Jazz Game....Ghetto Style

You must drive the 'Ghetto Cruiser'

Lovely huh! The back hatch was actually blue......a 16 year old kid hit me in a cross walk a long time ago, and we never bothered to get it fixed. I couldn't even tell you what the insurance money went to! LOL
Anyways....my ultra savy husband decided since they had a surplus of 'cash-for-clunker' cars at the dealership that were waiting to go to the junkyard. He would swap our dented one for a 'new' one. What can I say....it was free! And I am told, Brian's friend, 'Paco' can paint it for "real cheap"! (ya, I'm worried too)

Thursday afternoon I got the call that said we had Jazz tickets for the pre-season opener. You just don't say no to free tickets right?????!!!

Keep in mind me are "po" so we went on this date el cheapo!

100 points on the Subway card = FREE meal for Brian and Jen!!

nom nom nom....

Free parking pass.....check!

We go to will call and pick up our tickets. They were the VIP ones. Crap.....they come with a free all you can eat meal in the VIP room downstairs!!! Well we couldn't pass up the free food, so we ate again. Yes I was miserable....but by halftime we recovered to go back downstairs for more nachos and popcorn!
I love moochin!!!! That's how we roll.....Ghetto Style!

ROY - Virginia May Ware, 82, passed away Wednesday, August 26, 2009 following a short battle with pancreatic cancer.

She was born in Encampment, Wyoming on June 22, 1927 to John Murray and Hazel C. Brierley Wombaker. She was raised on the ranch in Wyoming and learned how to work hard with her brother and sisters at an early age, but enjoyed the freedom of the outdoors.

She married the love of her life, Everett E. Ware on July 6, 1944 and they were sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on June 3, 1955 after joining The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Everett passed away May 21, 1993.

She was an active member of the LDS Church where she served as the Relief Society President twice and was a visiting teacher for 50 years.

Virginia enjoyed serving others including her family and taking care of Everett's every need until he passed away. She enjoyed camping, traveling, cooking, sewing and keeping a good home. She especially loved family gatherings and cooking for everyone.

She is survived by her son, Warren (Karin) Ware; daughter-in-law, Carolyn Owens; a special Indian Placement Program daughter, Nora Damon, Sawmill, AZ; 7 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and dear friends. She is also survived by her sister, Louise Finch, Rawlings, WY; and two sisters-in-law, Euteva Lisec, North Carolina; and Eloida Morse, Nebraska.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her son, Ellis, her brother, Cliff and her sister, Evelyn Pantle.

The family would like to express their love and appreciation to some special people of the Rose Wood Ward who have served so unselfishly for the past few months. Also, a special thanks to Vista Care Hospice for their loving service and the staff at Washington Terrace Health Services.

"Cuz the Chicks Dig It"

This actually happened last Tuesday, July 28.

It was about 8:45 pm and Brian was still at work, the kids were watching a movie and playing downstairs. I decided to get in the shower. I just had put shampoo in my hair and McCoy came in screaming. ~ nothing new with this kid, he screams alot~
So I basically didn't think anything of it ~ mother of the year, right here!~
I didn't even open the shower door. Then Haylee comes in and is screaming too.
So I fling open the door prepared to chew someone a new **** and I all I see is blood, lots of blood covering the 4 year olds face.

I panic, frantically rinse all the soap out of the hair, throw some clothes on, grab some towels and the kids and chuck everything in the van.

I call Brian on the way to the insta-care. Thank goodness he was on his way home and already heading north on the freeway. I pull in to the insta-care litterally not even a mile from our house and it is closed. It closed at 9 CRAP! So I call Brian again. Screaming and crying into the phone all the while telling Haylee to keep pressure on McCoys head. Brian says he is getting off at our exit right then. What that didn't even take 5 minutes?! Them Lexus' are faaaassssstttt! So he tells me to meet him at the park and ride and he will drive cuz I sound like a crazy woman at this point!

I go screaming down the 'new road' to the freeway. Then I hear throw up noises coming from the middle seat. Great! Haylee is now sick after seeing her brothers blood that she is now passing out! I pull in the park and ride and Brian has flagged down a sherriff to come and look at McCoy. We fling the doors open and he starts to assess the little bugger. It stopped bleeding! Thank goodness! But the gash is really deep so we decide to go to the ER anyway to get it glued.

We take the freeway to the hospital cuz it seems like every main road in Ogden is under construction!!!! I call my mom on her cell and luckily her and dad are just coming out of the Junction from seeing Harry Potter! Score! They met us at the ER and took the other kids back home (including vomit girl).

The good thing about having a little kid in the ER is that they get you to a room real quick! =)

They couldn't super glue it shut because it was too close to the eye. So he got 5 stitches after they numbed it real good.

He was so brave! He even FELL ASLEEP while the Dr. was stitching him up!

***betcha all want to know how it happenend****

the story I got was Madi was mad at him for teasing her and pushed him. He fell into my bed and hit the metal bed rail on the bottom.

Poor little dude! I did feel better after the nursing staff was so impressed with our parenting!!! They were shocked this was our 4th child and first stitches for any of them! whoot whoot!

all the way home McCoy kept saying "Chicks dig scars, huh Dad"!

yep buddy, those chicks do!

How I Spent My Summer Vacation......

For the long 24th of July weekend we took off and headed north out of the 100* heat! It was a little cooler at our cabin, thank goodness!!

Here she is, our purrrty cabin! My Grandpa, Dad and uncles all built this cabin themselves in the summer of 1981. I never really appreciated it until I had kids of my own. They have so much fun when we are there.

I probably should tell you where this cabin is, for those who don't know! It's in Island Park, Idaho by Henry's Lake on your way to West Yellowstone.

This is the view from the front deck looking northwest.

and these are the rangers...

one of our favorite places to visit is Big Springs. You can't fish there, but the trout are huge! They were all hiding under the bridge when we got there, so I couldn't get any fishy pictures.

this is what I get when I ask them to pose for a nice picture! Show us your grrr face Haylee!

my Brian...

this is what $2 will by you if you are a 7 year old boy...

great.....it poops......
best.souvenier.evah!

we went into Yellowstone Park on Saturday...

when the Blackett's and the Ware's go to Old Faithful, it is for certain that ice cream will be bought @ the inn....

and devoured b4

this happens

I love these old tour buses. The tops come off too. We have never rode in one, but it looks like a lot of fun!

the boys got my camera and this is what happened. Don't worry, I deleted all the pictures they took of the dogs bum and all!

we ate lunch by the river and watched an osprey(sp?) swoop down and grab a fish out of the river with its talons!

Caden worked really hard on this model he bought in West Yellowstone. He did it all by himself!

the kids went fishing at Macks Inn off of the bridge.

I think when we go up next time we will take some tubes and float down the river. There were so many people doing that at Macks Inn! It looked like fun, and its something we have never done before...

I think McCoy had fun! What do you think??
